I just want to preface this by saying that it isn't quite about what it probably sounds like. That is, if it sounds like I'm in love with someone, but they don't know it, that's not quite it. It's a bit more complicated. I suppose I could give some more back story and explain what I mean, but I think it's too personal for a public forum.

The Effect

Sitting in my room,
Staring at the wall,
Sadness is my crutch,
The fear won't break my fall.

Slipping into darkness,
Though light sourrounding me,
It pushes me yet deeper,
Beyond the place where I should be.

She walks into my life,
But once per several years,
She pulls me from the darkness,
So I may begin to shed my tears.

They don't know what they mean to me,
I hardly know myself,
But this brief moment of clarity,
Forces reflection upon thyself.

The answers seem so clear,
The life I wish I had,
The path that ends in happiness,
Appears so near, yet its just a fad.

Just as I feel I can walk that path,
She walks out of my life,
Never even knowing,
My heart returns to strife.

A special connection once formed,
A bond that only flows one way,
